It was an inexpensive, but meaningful, personalized gift. It is small, so plan on using it for a small waste can like you would have next to a desk.Reading other reviews I see many of theirs came with little basketballs. Mine did not.Not that I'm missing them, this thing is clipped onto the garbage, but still.Anyways, it's exactly what it looks like. Rim is about 5" across. Backboard width is about the length of an adult male's hand. Comes fully assembled and either just clips on or it has pre-drilled screw holes. An amusing little distraction for any room.I have had this over a year and I have only used it 4 times. I keep it in a safe place and now it no longer works. You can hear it making noises but there is no light.We are doing a March Madness theme in our office and bought these backboards to clip onto the trash cans that we throw the used face papers into. They add a fun touch and since our chiropractor is always acting like he's swooshing the face paper into our garbage cans they were a natural fit! We don't actually use the basketballs that came with them but I would say if you are using these just for general entertainment they should be fine... if you are buying them for kids that play "enthusiastically", them I'm not sure how well / long they would hold up if you are clipping it to something ;) Hung on the wall, however, would probably be ok!NBA needs to use this for the official size from this point forward.
