From surgeons properly communicating what tool they need or what part of the body needs attention, to basketball trainers being able to identify the details that separate one technique from another, the purpose is the same. Terminology is a language that helps specialists communicate more efficiently.The game of basketball has had common terminology in the realm of basketball coaching for decades (Screens, Cuts, etc), but no common terms or language had been created to identify the wide variety of basketball skills and techniques, leaving skill trainers, the specialists within the game of basketball, little means to communicate and identify individual skills.
